Reached 54th place in EBSO list by rising 28 places in one year
Katmerciler reinforced its position
among the largest of the Aegean
Katmerciler Arac Ustu Ekipman (KATMR), the leader of Turkish vehicle mounted equipment sector and only representative of this sector in the stock market, reinforces its place among the largest companies of the Aegean Region. By taking a bound of 28 places in the annual "100 Largest Industrial Enterprises in the Aegean Region" listing of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) with its sales revenue of TRY 124 million in year 2012, Katmerciler rose from 82nd place to 54th place. With this rapid rise Katmerciler also became the fastest rising company among the top 100.
With its USD 62.7 million export revenue Katmerciler had shown the success of rising from 662nd place to 247th place with a single bound of 415 places on the "Largest Export Companies" listing published by Turkish Exporters Association (TIM) in May. By an increase of 131 per cent in its export, Katmerciler was among the fastest export business developers of the year on the TIM listing.
In his evaluation of EBSO listing Furkan Katmerci, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Katmerciler, stated that in year 2012 the company achieved significant increases in all balance items from sales revenue to export development, profitability to assets volume, and that the 28 place bound to 54th place on EBSO list in a single year is another result of the long standing streak of corporate success.
Katmerci said that as the largest export company of its sector with export activities in 41 countries, Katmerciler endeavours to represent Turkey and Izmir in international arena to its best capability, and went on to summarize 2012 results:
"In 2012 we increased our consolidated revenue by 79 per cent from TRY 85.7 million to TRY 153.1 million, and our net profit by 286 per cent from TRY 2.4 million to TRY 9.3 million. While our export volume in 2011 was realized at TRY 55.6 million, our total export volume in 2012 reached TRY 137.7 million, with an increase of 147 per cent. In the 2011-2012 period our equity increased by 35 per cent from TRY 29.9 million to TRY 40.3 million, and our assets volume increased by 30 per cent from TRY 118 million to TRY 153 million."
Expressing their pleasure regarding the EBSO result shortly after the rapid rise in TIM listing, Katmerci said, "As a publicly traded company we are contended that we have fulfilled our responsibility toward our investors and shareholders with the successful financial position we achieved."
Furkan Katmerci pointed out that the first priority target for the company is the defence industry in scope of the strategy of focusing on products with high added value, and reminded that thanks to the "Facility Safety Certificate" issued by the Ministry of National Defence on 19 March 2013 the Company is now able to participate in defence industry tenders of both the Turkish Armed Forces and the NATO.
Noting that the company is focusing on wheeled armoured vehicle production as the first step towards this sector, Katmerci added:
"Currently we are focusing on two Armoured Personnel Carriers with specifications complementing each other in regard of main task requirements. Both vehicles have successfully completed the tests and evaluations up to date. In addition, we continue negotiations on some potential international projects. We also completed the machinery and equipment investments required for production of these vehicles."
Emphasizing the pioneering and innovative character of Katmerciler with its 28 years of deep rooted history and its experience and know-how in the vehicle mounted equipment sector, Katmerci went on to say:
