WASTE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE
1. AIM
The purpose of the procedure; Waste generated as a result of production and office work at Katmerciler A.Ş.”, “Waste Management Regulation”, “Packaging Waste Control Regulation”, “Zero Waste Regulation”, “Waste Oil Control Regulation”, “Waste Batteries and Accumulators Control Regulation” , "Medical Waste Control Regulation", "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Control Regulation", "Communiqué on Recovery of Non-Hazardous Wastes", "Regulation on Regular Storage of Wastes" is the disposal, recovery or recycling and reduction of the amount.
2. SCOPE
This procedure; Separate collection of the wastes generated as a result of production and office work at the source, reducing the amount of waste, disposal of the collected wastes according to the type and disposal methods of the “T.C. It covers what is required to be done in accordance with the “Environmental Law”.

4. DEFINITIONS
Dangerous waste; Waste that has one or more of the dangerous features in Annex-3/A of the Waste Management Regulation, and the wastes with an asterisk (*) next to the six-digit waste code in Annex-4,
Hazardous wastes generated during production at Katmerciler A.Ş.; oak and oily cloth gloves & work clothes, waste mask, waste oils, contaminated packaging waste (waste oil drums, waste paint cans), sandblasting waste, waste paint, waste cartridge and toner, waste packaging waste, waste cable, fluorescent waste, medical waste, waste batteries, electronic waste, any chemical or paint contaminated substances.
Recyclable waste; Wastes in this class; nylon-plastic, paper-cardboard, glass, metal waste, wooden pallet.
Domestic Waste ; They are domestic organic wastes formed in the cafeteria.
Non-Hazardous Wastes; Metal scrap waste, plastic waste and cable waste.
Medical Wastes; These are the wastes generated as a result of medical intervention in the infirmary of the enterprise.
Waste Oils; Engine oils

7. APPLICATION
7.1. WASTE COLLECTION
Hazardous and non-hazardous (recyclable and recoverable) wastes are collected at defined points and containers within the production. The wastes are collected separately at the source according to the waste types, without mixing with each other at the point where they are generated. There are labels on the containers and containers used for this purpose that indicate which wastes will be collected and the waste code.
After the wastes are collected separately at the source in these containers, authorized personnel collect the wastes and store them in the relevant collection section in the temporary waste storage area with impermeable reinforced concrete floor and covered.
Wastes are stored in separate sections according to their types in the temporary storage area, and plates indicating the stored waste content and waste code are hung in these sections. In order to collect possible leaks in front of and inside the temporary storage area, there is a leak collection channel made in accordance with the ground slope and a blind pool reached by the channel. Fire extinguisher and sawdust are kept in the area to clean up possible leaks. There is a Temporary Storage Permit dated 12.01.2017 and numbered 324 regarding the temporary storage area.
7.2. LABELING OF WASTE COLLECTION EQUIPMENT
Each waste container is identified by the Environmental Officer and labeled with a waste label with the waste type and waste code written. Contaminated cloth wastes consisting of rags, Contaminated packaging wastes consisting of waste chemical drums and paint cans, Hazardous wastes consisting of fluorescent collected are collected in red containers (barrels) and awareness is raised by writing the hazardous waste label. Waste batteries are collected in waste battery collection boxes. Waste oils, waste paints and sandblasting wastes are collected in barrels at the waste site. Waste toner is collected in the waste toner box next to the printer.

7.3. TRANSFER AND CONTROL OF WASTE
The wastes collected in the hazardous waste collection area are transported to the recycling or disposal facilities that hold the Temporary Activity Certificate or the Environmental Permit and License through licensed transportation companies.
The licenses and license validity periods of the companies are checked by the Environmental Officer. Contracts to be made with companies are prepared/prepared by the Management Representative and become valid with the approval of the senior management. The contract includes which wastes the company will take, how often and how it will be disposed of / recycled / recovered.
Domestic Waste (Garbage); Waste is collected in containers located in the waste area. Containers are collected by the garbage collection vehicles of Çiğli Municipality.
Recoverable Wastes; After being collected from the relevant waste stations in the enterprise, the recyclable wastes (paper-cardboard waste, nylon-plastic) are stored in the relevant section of the waste storage area. Periodic shipment is provided to the recyclable waste company. It is stored in the waste recycling company. The waste is shipped to the facility where it will be used as raw material.
Hazardous Wastes; Hazardous wastes collected separately at waste stations within the enterprise are labeled and stored in the temporary storage area. Motat is registered and delivered to licensed disposal company. Waste declaration is made through the ECBS system of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization until the end of March every year. Waste declaration printouts are kept for 5 years.
Non-Hazardous Wastes; Non-hazardous wastes collected separately at waste collection points in the enterprise are shipped to licensed companies. Waste declaration is made through the ECBS system of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization until the end of March every year. Waste declaration printouts are kept for 5 years.
Medical Wastes; Medical wastes are collected in red bags, medical waste boxes and red colored medical waste containers in the infirmary, and licensed medical waste sterilization, which has a contract with İzmir B. City Municipality, is shipped with Motat registration/medical waste receipt document.
Waste Batteries; Waste batteries collected separately at waste battery collection points within the enterprise are labeled and stored in the temporary storage area and sent to the authorized institution, TAPDER or the municipality.
Waste Oils; Waste oils collected separately at waste stations within the enterprise are labeled and stored in the temporary storage area. It is collected by the authorized organization (PetDer) for the collection of motor oils by registering Motat.
7.4. DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF WASTE AND REPORTING
A copy of the waybills for the quantities of all solid wastes is kept by the Waste Officer. The monthly amounts of solid wastes from these copies are reported to the Environmental Officer and the report is kept. Hazardous wastes are tracked through the ECBS system with Motat registration.
Changes and disruptions in the amount of waste are examined by the Environmental Officer, and an action plan is prepared if necessary.
7.5 WASTE DISPOSAL / RECYCLING / RECYCLING METHODS
Wastes are directed to recovery, recycling or disposal facilities in accordance with their characteristics. Rarely generated solid wastes are reported to the Environmental Officer by the waste owner. The appropriate method is determined by the Environmental Officer and applied with the approval of the management representative. Department managers cannot decide on the disposal method alone and/or perform the disposal without the approval of the Environmental Officer.
7.6 CONTROL OF WASTE DISPOSAL / RECOVERY / RECYCLING
Notification and control of the annual amounts of wastes and final disposal methods are made through the Ministry of Environment software portal (ECBS) until the end of March of each year with the Hazardous and Non-hazardous Waste Declaration Form. In order to reduce the amount of waste and develop disposal methods, a 3-year Waste Management Plan is prepared and sent to the Provincial Directorate of Environment for approval. All these controls are carried out by the Environmental Officer.
