Katmerciler has earned the right for the ADR Certificate necessary for ADR tank manufacture, which has become an international standard in the carriage of dangerous goods, in the wake of TSE audits and thus stepped forward in the competition.
Katmerciler, leader of the Turkish on-vehicle equipment industry, has taken another step towards production in international standards. It has earned the right to receive the certification required for the manufacture of ADR tanks which has become an international standard in the carriage of dangerous goods with the full name European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road in the wake of TSE audits. Producing in accordance with this agreement which contains 43 countries with a majority of European countries and which was determined by the United Nations, will carry Katmerciler one step further in the competition.
The ADR came into effect on September 30, 1957 with the efforts of United Nations Europe Economic Commission. Since the day it came into force, the ADR has seen some amendments, and its final form was published on January 1st, 2003 and put into practice on July 1st, 2003. There are a total of 43 countries which have approved and carried this regulation into practice, most of which are European. The ADR is used in Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, White Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Netherlands, England and Northern Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Cyprus, Romania and a number of other countries.
In other words, the ADR can be thought of as a chain of standards determined for the safety of transportation. The necessity of the certification of the conformity to these standards by accredited institutions(TSE) is again a part of the ADR rule. ADR, whose main purpose is to ensure the safe transportation of dangerous goods, also aims the classification of dangerous loads, determination of conditions, making the routes and parking spots suitable for certain criteria.
Exhaustive process and success
The obtaining process of the certification in question is a difficult process. A quality system that allows the production process to be checked in the best way was formed. Starting from the controls regarding the necessary traits of input products until the controls of the end product, each test required by the ADR regulation has been conducted and reported. All equipment used in production was made suitable in technical features and the job in terms of ADR. The personnel of each production phase have been trained. The documents acting as the evidence of the processes conducted were prepared in accordance and competence with the quality system. Following these steps, an application to the authorized certification establishment for the certification of production authorization certificate was made, following which audits were performed and the right to manufacture ADR tanks has been obtained.
